Welcome to Jane's House

More than a place to stay — a place to rebuild.

Jane's House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to creating a safe, supportive, and healing home for women seeking recovery from substance use disorder.

We will serve women who are ready for a sober, stable, and nurturing space. And our mission reaches beyond the individual: we help restore the relationships that matter most — especially with children and family impacted during active substance use. We believe healing isn't only personal. It's generational.

A safe, sober home

Stable, structured, and nurturing — the foundation recovery needs to last.

Restored relationships

Rebuilding the trust and connection between women, their children, and their families.

Accountability & growth

Through Monthly Accountability Packets, work, and education, women set goals, track progress, and build lasting stability.

Jane's House
A home built on love & hope
Why this matters

The need is real — and so is the reason for hope.

Substance use disorder touches millions of lives. We choose to look at those numbers and see people worth fighting for.

0

people across the U.S. are affected by substance use disorder.

0

lives are lost to overdose every year, nationwide.

Above

Illinois overdose rates continue to rise, exceeding the national average.

The cycle

children of those affected face far higher risk — which is exactly what we're here to break.

So we choose to be part of the solution — breaking cycles, restoring families, and bringing hope back home.

Jane, the inspiration behind Jane's House

Meet Jane

A life of love that became a mission.

Jane was kind, loving, and full of compassion — the kind of woman who gave everything she had to the people she loved. For many years she also carried the weight of substance use disorder, a struggle that strained her closest relationships and, at times, left her without a place to call home. She passed at the age of 52.

Jane's House was born from both love and loss — because we believe every woman deserves to be met with grace and compassion, not judgement.

Founded by the women who knew her best, this home is built on a simple belief: that no woman should have to walk this road without support. With your help, Jane's House will become what Jane needed but never found — a safe, steady, and hopeful place to begin again.

Jane's story is not unique. So many women are walking a similar path right now, and Jane's House exists for them — to meet them with dignity, restoration, and the stubborn, beautiful belief that healing is always possible.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Jane's House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to opening a healing, sober-living home for women. Our mission centers on recovery, education, and restoring the family connections that are so often impacted by substance use.
We're committed to a supportive, healing environment for women pursuing lifelong recovery from substance use disorder. We also focus on restoring relationships that may have been strained or broken during active substance use — helping women rebuild connection, trust, and stability.
There are many meaningful ways to support Jane's House. You can volunteer your time, make a donation to advance our mission, or simply help us spread the word. Following, liking, and sharing our social media is a powerful way to raise awareness. Every action — big or small — makes a difference.
No. Jane's House will be a sober-living home for women who have already completed treatment and are ready to continue their recovery in a structured, supportive environment. We do not offer medical services, provide medications, or handle withdrawal management. Residents will be expected to work, volunteer, and actively participate in educational opportunities designed to promote growth, stability, and long-term success.
Accountability is at the heart of Jane's House. Residents work, volunteer, and take part in education designed for growth and lasting recovery. Each month, they complete a Monthly Accountability Packet (MAP) — a tool to help them budget, reflect, set goals, document recovery meetings, log volunteer hours, and more. It's structure with purpose: the kind of steady, supportive accountability that helps recovery last.
Not yet. Jane's House is a future sober-living home, and we're actively fundraising to bring this vision to life — we are not currently accepting residents. When we open, our program will ask residents to work, volunteer, and participate in education that promotes stability, growth, and long-term recovery. Our leadership

The women turning pain into purpose.

Jane's House is led by a devoted group of women — those who loved Jane and those moved by her story — determined to build what she needed but never found.

A
Arielle
President

"Jane is my mother. For years I carried the anger of loving a mother in active addiction. Serving through my home church, I felt called to give my mom's pain and mine a purpose. I truly believe that if you can heal the mother, you can heal the family — and that's exactly what Jane's House intends to do."

B
Brandi
Vice President

"I always say, 'Be the person you needed when you were a kid.' I'm looking forward to being that person for countless women who come through Jane's House — and to helping families heal and reconnect the relationships lost during active addiction."

M
Misty
Treasurer

"I'm the big sister, Jane's oldest daughter. I can only imagine how different our mom's life could have been with the resources she needed. I don't want women to suffer for lack of resources anymore — or their children to go through what we did. I can't wait to see how Jane's House changes families."

A
April
Secretary

"I'm looking forward to the ripple effect of Jane's House across our community — watching women heal and grow in ways they never thought possible. I'm especially excited about the education we have planned. I truly believe something like this could have changed our mom's life."

A
Arica
Chair Person

"I'm Jane's youngest daughter. Like my mother, I lived with addiction for several years, and today I'm grateful to walk in recovery. I understand the 'why' of addiction — and the 'why' and 'how' of sobriety. I can't wait to build relationships with the women who come through our doors."

G
Grace
Chair Person

"I believe every woman deserves hope, support, and a chance to rebuild her life. I'm honored to be part of a mission that will change lives and strengthen families in our community."

Heal the mother, heal the family.

The belief at the heart of everything we do.
