Founded in December 2024, Jane’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to creating a safe, supportive, and healing environment for women seeking recovery. Our vision is simple but powerful: to provide more than just a place to stay—we offer a place to rebuild, grow, and truly feel at home.
At Jane’s House, we will serve women who are ready for a sober, stable, and nurturing space. Beyond recovery, our mission extends to helping restore the relationships that matter most—especially those with children and family members impacted during active substance use. We believe healing is not just individual—it’s generational.
Substance use disorder continues to affect millions of lives across the country. More than 37 million people nationwide are impacted, with over 100,000 lives lost each year to overdose. Here in Illinois, overdose rates continue to rise, exceeding the national average. Even more concerning, children of those affected are significantly more likely to face similar struggles.
We are determined to be part of the solution—breaking cycles, restoring families, and bringing hope back into our community.

Meet Jane
Jane is the inspiration behind everything we do.
She was deeply kind, loving, and full of compassion—but she also struggled for many years with substance use disorder. Over time, those struggles took a heavy toll, straining her relationships with family, leading to periods of being unhoused, and ultimately contributing to her passing at the age of 52.
Jane’s House was born from both love and loss.
Founded by her daughters, this mission is built on the hope that no woman has to face those same challenges without support. With your help, Jane’s House will be what Jane needed—but never found: a safe, stable, and healing place to call home.
Jane’s story is not unique. There are so many women walking a similar path, and Jane’s House exists for them—to offer hope, restoration, and a place to begin again.

Residents will be expected to work, volunteer, and actively participate in educational opportunities designed to promote growth, stability, and long-term success.

Jane’s House is a future sober living home for women who have already completed treatment and are ready to continue their recovery journey in a structured, supportive environment. While we are not yet accepting residents, we are actively fundraising to bring this vision to life. Our program will require residents to work, volunteer, and participate in educational opportunities that promote stability, personal growth, and long-term recovery.
